DESCRIPTION: Voodoo BBQ is a chain of BBQ restaurants originating in New Orleans and located throughout the area.
OBJECTIVE: Unify Voodoo’s visual identity. Keep the New Orleans/VooDoo flare, but make it family oriented. Inject a little humor. Stay away from the darker elements of voodoo — pins, dolls, etc.
COMMENTS: As a part of my “research” I sampled all of Voodoo BBQ’s dishes. One of the things Voodoo BBQ is well know for is its sides and unique line of BBQ sauces. But me, being a purist, preferred mine sauceless. Which helped launch a Shakespearean “To Sauce or NOT to Sauce…” campaign in the form of ads, billboards, shirts, and a commercial.

DESCRIPTION: T-shirt sold in Voodoo’s restaurants.

OBJECTIVE: Create packaging designs for VooDoo BBQ’s unique line of sauces and rub to made available in retail stores and Voodoo’s retaurants.

OBJECTIVE: Create a fun bc for management to hand out.
COMMENTS: At first glace the finger prints slightly startled people then came a smile once they realized it wasn’t real sauce. Kinda wish we made them scratch an sniff too.

DESCRIPTION: Labels for current sauce bottles and child’s cup used in Voodoo’s restaurants.

COMMENTS: This was a comp we presented in our initial pitch to Voodoo BBQ. It got a nice chuckle out of them. But being a family oriented restaurant, the ad never ran.
